The owners of this three-storey house in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood loved the area, but longed for a more functional and contemporary home. After searching but failing to find what they were looking for, they decided to stay and update the house they had grown to love. So began a year-long top-to-bottom renovation, custom tailored to their needs and goals. Dark and dated interiors were lightened and brightened with natural oak flooring and chalk white walls throughout. A spectacular open staircase adds drama to the main floor, and a sleek and modern chef’s kitchen in a lustrous dove grey opens to the reimagined dining and living spaces. An entire wall of custom millwork defines the home office and keeps things organized and functional, while the third floor principal bedroom has the look and feel of a stylish hotel suite, including a luxurious en-suite bathroom. High-end furnishings throughout the home add European flair and elegance and reflect the clients’ well-travelled lives.
